Documentary
Merging experience in both independent and studio filmmaking, we’re interested in telling stories that fire the imagination and fuel the soul. Stories to live by, if you like. And whether fact or fiction, we feel the best stories combine an honest philosophy with a compelling narrative.
Our non-fiction collection is designed to shine a light on people living passionate lives. Celebrating creativity and craftsmanship with a unique point of view, we currently have two documentaries centered around American culinary culture; one is complete, the second is in post-production. "Leap of Faith: Fast Lane to Farmstead" is focused on a gay couple who gave up their successful corporate life for a simpler, more sustainable one; they now run a goat dairy and make spectacular goat cheese. The film took the Best Eco-Cinema, Special Jury Award at the 2009 Napa Sonoma Wine Country Film Festival and is currently available on DVD via Indieflix. For every copy sold, we will donate a dollar to the Farm-to-Consumer Foundation in support of their ongoing mission to educate people about sustainably farmed food.
Our next project is feature documentary "Sean Thackrey: Pleasure Architect", an in-depth profile on one of the wine world's most fascinating and controversial figures. The film is fiscally sponsored by ReelChanges.org, part of the non-profit Center for Media Change founded to "to enrich our culture by facilitating the creation and distribution of more high-quality documentaries." This film is now eligible for tax-deductible contributions, which can be made directly through the dedicated project page on the ReelChanges website. Interested parties are also very welcome to Alexandra Austin for more information.
